  1. "Don't Let Me Down" is I think one of the very best songs John wrote during his time with the Beatles. Released in as the B side to the single "Get Back" it would later in the early '70s appear in the Beatles album "Hey Jude" which was a collection of their songs released as singles either as A or B side.5/5(20).

  5. The don't let me down part I imagine is about him putting all his stock in this first love and doesn't want her to let it end or in other words let him down. Thats just what I made of it. Forrest from Rochester, Mn Don't Let Me Down was not on Abbey Road, for the record.

The Beatles’ first studio recording of ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ was taped on 21 January at Apple, although rehearsals of the song had been filmed earlier in the month at Twickenham Film Studios.. A version from the following day was selected for inclusion in the unreleased Get Back album, along with a snippet of speech in which Lennon asked Starr to hit the cymbals hard.
